Terms and conditions

Last updated: September 2026

1. About these terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the parenting consultancy services provided by Grace for Growth to you ("Client"), whether delivered virtually or in person. By booking a session, package or programme, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Grace for Growth is a parenting consultancy business owned and operated by Lisa Adams, registered in England and Wales and based in Bracknell, Berkshire.

2. Nature of our services

We provide parenting guidance, coaching and consultancy support, delivered by video call, telephone and in-person sessions, as agreed with each Client. Services may include one-off consultations, session packages, ongoing support programmes and group workshops.

Please read carefully: Grace for Growth provides parenting guidance and coaching. We are not a substitute for medical, psychological, psychiatric, therapeutic, social work or legal services.

  • We do not diagnose or treat medical or mental health conditions in you or your child.
  • If your child (or you) may need clinical, therapeutic or safeguarding support, we will encourage and help you seek appropriately qualified professional help (for example a GP, health visitor, CAMHS, family therapist or social services).
  • Any advice given is general guidance based on the information you share with us and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional medical or legal advice specific to your circumstances.

3. Bookings and scheduling

Bookings can be made via our website, email or phone. A session or programme is only confirmed once we have acknowledged the booking and, where applicable, received payment or a deposit.

In-person sessions take place at a location agreed in advance (our premises, your home or another mutually agreed venue). Virtual sessions are delivered by video call, with joining details sent ahead of the session.

Please arrive or log on promptly. If you are more than 15 minutes late without notice, we reserve the right to treat the session as forfeited under our cancellation policy below.

4. Fees and payment

Our current fees for single sessions, session packages and monthly retainer arrangements are set out in our current price list, which will be shared with you before booking. Prices are subject to change, but any change will not affect a package or programme you have already paid for.

  • Single sessions: payable in full at the time of booking, unless otherwise agreed.
  • Session packages: payable in full (or by agreed instalments) before the first session in the package, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Monthly retainer or subscription arrangements: payable in advance on a rolling monthly basis, and continue until cancelled in accordance with section 8 (Termination).

Payment can be made by bank transfer or cash. We reserve the right to suspend services if payment is significantly overdue.

5. Cancellations, rescheduling and refunds

We understand that plans change, particularly with children involved. Our policy is as follows:

  • Cancellations or rescheduling requests made more than 48 hours before a session: no charge, and the session will be rebooked at no extra cost.
  • Cancellations or rescheduling requests made within 24 hours of a session: the session fee may be retained, or a reduced rescheduling fee of 50 percent of the total fee may apply, at our discretion.
  • Missed sessions with no notice ("no-shows") will be charged in full and are non-refundable.
  • For prepaid packages or retainers, unused sessions are generally non-refundable but may be credited towards future sessions at our discretion, or in the event of exceptional circumstances (for example serious illness).

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a session with reasonable notice due to illness, emergency or unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, we will offer an alternative time or a full refund or credit for that session.

6. Client responsibilities

To help us support you effectively, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and honest information relevant to the support you are seeking.
  • Attend sessions in a suitable, private space where you can speak openly.
  • Take responsibility for decisions made about your family and parenting approach; you remain the decision-maker for your child at all times.
  • Ensure any children present during a session (particularly virtual sessions) are appropriately supervised, unless the session is specifically designed to include them.

7. Confidentiality and data protection

We treat all information shared with us as confidential and will not share it with third parties except as set out below or as required by law.

We process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Details of what data we collect, how we use it and your rights are set out in our Privacy and data protection notice.

Limits to confidentiality: If, during our work together, we become concerned that a child or vulnerable person is at risk of harm, we have a professional and legal duty to raise this with the appropriate authorities (such as children's social care or the police), even without your consent. Where possible and safe to do so, we will discuss this with you first.

8. Termination

You may end a monthly retainer or ongoing arrangement at any time by giving 1 week's written notice. Fees already paid for services already provided, or for the current notice period, are non-refundable.

We reserve the right to end our working relationship with a Client at any time, including where we consider that our services are not appropriate to the Client's needs, where a more specialist service is required, or where a Client's conduct is abusive, unsafe or otherwise unreasonable. In such cases we will, where possible, provide a reasonable refund for sessions not yet delivered.

9. Limitation of liability

Our services are provided as guidance and support based on the information available to us at the time. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We do not guarantee specific outcomes for you, your child or your family.
  • We are not liable for decisions you make based on our guidance; parenting decisions remain your responsibility.
  • Our total liability to you for any claim arising from our services is limited to the fees you have paid us for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.

10. Intellectual property

Any materials, worksheets, guides or resources provided as part of our services remain the intellectual property of Grace for Growth. They are for your personal use only and may not be copied, distributed or used commercially without our written permission.

11. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us at lisa@graceforgrowth.co.uk so we can try to resolve the issue. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 business days and to respond fully within 5 business days.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our services, fees or the law. The current version will always be available on request. Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Privacy and data protection

Grace for Growth (Lisa Adams) is committed to protecting client, family and business information, in line with UK data protection law. This explains how we collect, use, store, share and dispose of personal information.

What we may collect

  • Name and contact details
  • Booking, appointment and payment information
  • Information you share during consultations or sessions
  • Information about parenting circumstances, family relationships and children
  • Wellbeing, health or support information, only where you choose to provide it and it is necessary for the service
  • Correspondence, feedback and records of the support provided
  • Information needed for safeguarding or legal obligations

We collect information directly from you wherever possible, explain why we need it, and only ask for what is relevant and necessary. We avoid asking for unnecessary details about children or other family members.

Why we use it

We use personal data only where we have an appropriate lawful basis, such as performing our contract with you, taking steps at your request before a contract, complying with a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent, it will be freely given, specific and informed, and you can withdraw it.

Confidentiality

Your information is confidential and is only accessed by people who need it for a legitimate business or safeguarding purpose. We will not share client stories or examples publicly in an identifiable form without permission, and we take care not to discuss client information where others could overhear.

Children and family information

Because we provide parenting consultancy, information about children and family life may be discussed. We only record what is necessary for the service and take particular care with information about children.

Safeguarding and sharing information

We will not share your information with another person or organisation unless there is a lawful and appropriate reason. Confidentiality is not absolute: information may be shared without consent where required by law or where needed to protect a child or adult from serious harm. In these situations we share only the minimum necessary information.

Keeping information safe

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including strong passwords and multi-factor authentication where available, up-to-date security software, device screen locks, protected cloud services, locked storage for paper records, and secure deletion or shredding when information is no longer needed. We do not record consultations unless there is a clear, documented reason and appropriate permission.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as there is a legitimate business, legal, safeguarding or contractual reason. Closed client records are reviewed periodically and securely deleted or destroyed when no longer required. Financial records are kept for the period required by tax and accounting rules, and safeguarding records are kept securely for an appropriate period.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you may have the right to access your personal data, ask for it to be corrected, object to certain uses, and ask for it to be deleted or restricted in appropriate circumstances. We will handle requests promptly and may need to verify your identity first.

Other providers, marketing and testimonials

Where we use providers such as booking systems, payment providers, cloud storage, email or video-conferencing services, we choose reputable providers and review their privacy and security arrangements. We only send marketing where there is an appropriate lawful basis, and you can opt out. Testimonials, photographs or case studies will not identify you or your child without appropriate permission.

Questions or concerns

Contact us at lisa@graceforgrowth.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
